Activities
All our RDA riding and carriage driving sessions run during the Flintshire school term time. Our mechanical horse, hippotherapy, independent riding sessions, and our Changing Lives Through Horses programme run throughout the year.
Whilst these are our core set of activities, we would love to hear from you if you are looking for something different, either as a one-off activity or for a group. Prices correct as at January 2025.
RDA Riding
We offer riding sessions for groups and individuals from the age of five. In our sessions, the horse provides a focus for a wide range of physical activities, and educational activities that help to build skills in literacy, numeracy and communication.
Held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays – Sessions last 40 minutes (to include mounting and dismounting) and cost between £20-£25 per session.
RDA Carriage Driving
Especially adapted carriages make carriage driving accessible to wheelchair users and those with limited mobility. The exhilarating feeling of movement provided by carriage driving is both therapeutic and a great sport. Our 2km all-weather track offers a unique driving experience around our peaceful setting.
Carriage Driving sessions run every Monday and cost £25 for 40 minutes (to include mounting and dismounting).

They offer the opportunity to take riding skills to the next level, with a focus on deepening the joy of riding. Whether it's building a partnership with the horse, achieving personal goals, or boosting confidence and self-esteem, each session is tailored to support growth, independence, and a sense of accomplishment.

Horse Agility
Horse Agility is an inclusive and engaging activity where handlers guide horses through a series of ground-based obstacles. It focuses on communication, trust, and coordination between horse and handler — all without the need for riding.
This makes Horse Agility an ideal option for participants with additional needs, who may not be able to ride, the opportunity to actively engage with horses.

Sessions run every Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Find out more about the sessions and prices.

Our accessible Horse Care sessions offer participants with additional needs, the chance to connect with horses in a meaningful, hands-on way — without the need to ride. These sessions are designed to teach essential horse care skills while promoting confidence, responsibility, and emotional well-being.
Whether you’re brushing a horse’s coat, learning how to tack up, or simply spending quiet time in the stable, each session supports physical, social, and sensory development in a calm and supportive environment.
