Clwyd RDA Carriage Driving Anniversary Celebrations

Carriage driving has been part of the Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) for 50 years, and groups nationwide have been celebrating this milestone. At Clwyd Special Riding Centre, we marked the occasion with a special afternoon of celebrations.

Participants, volunteers and their families enjoyed meeting our ponies - hearing what makes them perfect for driving, and learning about the harnesses and carriages they pull, before watching a demonstration and trying carriage driving themselves.

Celebrations continued with the opportunity to get close up to some very impressive birds of prey, while lively hobby horse racing produced a lot of laughs. The celebration closed with a human carriage pull race – the perfect way to burn off the calories after indulging in the delicious spread of tea and cakes!

Here’s to the next 50 years of carriage driving at Clwyd Special Riding Centre!

WATCH THE VIDEOS BELOW… Thank you to the Clwyd RDA Carriage Driving volunteers for putting on such a fantastic day, to John The Owl Man, and to volunteer, Sue McDougall, for producing these amazing videos.
