Operations Director Vacancy

Circa £50,000 per annum pro rata
Part time: 20 hours per week

Clwyd Special Riding Centre (CSRC) is a registered charity offering a variety of equine experiences for people with additional needs, based in the Clwydian Hills, between Wrexham and Mold. Our aim is to offer a beneficial experience to all persons through riding, carriage driving, equestrian vaulting, equine learning and therapy, and hippotherapy. For 18 months, the Centre was closed due to the pandemic, but has now begun a phased reopening to get back to what we do best: using our special horses and ponies to improve the life experience of children and adults with additional needs.

We are looking to appoint a dynamic professional who has vision, energy and commitment to direct operations at CSRC. The person appointed will be an inspirational leader who, working collaboratively with our staff team and volunteers, can maintain our standards and drive innovation enabling growth and development. As an ideal candidate your organisational, communication and leadership skills will be second to none. You will have experience of managing teams, an up-to-date knowledge of HR issues and will be able to lead policy and projects ensuring that these deliver solutions and tangible results for the Centre. You will have excellent people skills, being able to lead a team with integrity and establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive and productive environment.

For this Director role, we are looking for someone able to work with the Trustee board and the CSRC team to:
• Deliver and monitor the Business plan as developed with the Trustees
• Set goals to promote growth, in conjunction with the Trustees
• Drive and support new ways of using the Centre facilities thereby extending our client/beneficiary base
• Identify areas for improvement and plan and implement systems to improve effectiveness
• Collaborate with the trustees in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans
• Contribute significantly to strategic planning
• Prepare budgets, schedules and reports as needed
• Monitor and evaluate CSRC operations, processes and staff workloads in order to meet goals and deadlines
• Drive Marketing and PR for the Centre to all users and potential users including sponsors, donors and volunteers
• Develop strong links with the local press
• Promote and ensure safety in the workplace in line with Health and Safety policies
• Direct and co-ordinate the various activities operating within the Centre
• Manage property lettings alongside the staff team
• Manage the CSRC staff team alongside the Centre Coordinator
