We are looking to recruit a qualified RDA Group Coach to support the running of our established RDA riding sessions.
This is a paid role on an hourly basis, with salary based on experience.
Starting in September, the role will be part-time, covering Wednesday and Thursday daytime sessions during Flintshire school term time only.
We may also consider an experienced BHS Coach who would like to be fast tracked through their RDA qualifications. If we hire a trainee RDA Coach you will be required to start asap to commence your training, in readiness for September.
Overview of an RDA Group Coach Role:
Main Purpose
The Group’s Coach is required to work with RDA Regional, County, Group Officials and Volunteers, and other informed persons e.g. Teachers, Parents, Specialists (where applicable) to ensure that an acceptable standard of instruction/coaching is maintained within their Group.
Specific Responsibilities
• Work within the RDA Health & Safety Guidelines.
• To have a thorough knowledge of the disabilities of the riders within their Group.
• To assess riders and ponies and be able to match them, so that riders have the most benefit from their riding sessions.
• To monitor and keep records of the progress of all riders and to ensure safety at all times.
• To be responsible for the content and conduct of the ride.
• To ensure that riders want to continue riding by providing happy riding conditions for them.
• To know and understand the issues and procedures in protecting children and vulnerable adults.
